🧠 A Shift in the Lens: From Protecting Women to Transforming Society

Why is it that in a country full of brilliant minds and soulful hearts, we still treat women like fragile beings who must be “protected”? Why is the term women safety even needed? Doesn’t that imply the world belongs to someone else—and that women are mere guests to be guarded?

The real issue isn’t women being out at night—it’s why men aren’t held accountable when they make the night unsafe.

We create patrol squads like Nirbhaya teams and teach self-defense to girls, but never ask why they have to defend themselves in the first place. Instead of telling a girl to cut her night short, why don’t we ask the boys to stay home and reflect on why their freedom became someone else’s fear?

The system has failed—not because it doesn’t act, but because it postpones justice, avoids uncomfortable truths, and teaches girls to shrink while letting criminals roam freely. What if we flipped the entire approach?

Let’s build a society where:

– Fear rests with the offender—not the survivor  

– Every person can move freely, without surveillance or shame  

– Language reflects justice—not pity  

Don’t call it “women safety.” Call it male accountability. Social evolution. Human equity. 

Only when we stop teaching girls to survive and start teaching society to evolve will India truly begin to heal—and thrive.
